Chickens here are fierce and athletic birds! The tree was on approximately a 45 degree angle, but still...it went all the way to the top, on top of the leaves and coconuts!!
THEN, another chicken started to climb the tree!! (they were both hens to be specific). I figured it was refuge to escape the endless harassment by the large and scary roosters. However, the second hen lost her footing near the top! and after a few tense moments, she fell down!! She was ok, for moment, but then as I suspected, she was chased down by a horny and ruthless rooster!!! Out of nowhere! After a few seconds, it was over. he won...she was raped.
The first hen sat quietly in the coconut tree...happy she was more sure-footed.
Needless to say, it was very strange and slightly traumatizing! Even though chicken procreation is natural, I'm still rooting for the hens to escape.
